More and more vehicle manufacturers are developing "greener" versions of their well-known brands. The infusion of Hybrid technology has made a large splash in the motoring world and its popularity as well as the growing concern for the environment has added to the demand for this type of vehicles, urging more vehicle manufacturers to add more of their vehicles in the hybrid bandwagon to capture more potential consumers in the market.

One of the newest in the batch 2007 hybrid car lineup is the 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid, the third in Toyota's Hybrid cars. The Camry hybrid boasts of a performance of a topnotch six-cylinder engine with the fuel economy of a four-cylinder engine. Although it isn't as fuel efficient as the first Toyota hybrid, the Prius, the Camry hybrid is a whole lot better than the regular Camry.

Never to be left behind, giant Japanese vehicle manufacture Honda, has also the Hybrid Accord and the Hybrid Civic. These two sedans offer what Hybrids are known for, less emission and less fuel consumption.

The 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid alone combines luxury and fuel efficiency that's truly environment friendly. Even with a V6 engine that generates 253 horsepower, you can be sure that you will get more miles to the gallon. It is a nice change knowing that you get the luxury and power that you want and still get the fuel economy that we all deserve.

Then there is the 2007 Civic Hybrid which continuously provides the true essence of hybrid technology. Its ingenious engineering has rightly earned it its Advanced Technology Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV) rating. What this means is that you don't only get from point A to point B in less gas usage, but also save the environment by not adding to the air pollutants already swarming over it.

Joining the Hybrid vehicle race in 2007 is General Motors second Hybrid vehicle, the 2007 Aura Hybrid sedan. This will be competing with other high-end hybrid automobiles such as the Toyota Camry Hybrid and the Honda Accord Hybrid. Sporting a V6 engine as well, the Aura Green Line is dedicated to providing utmost engine power with minimal gas consumption. Its engineers claim that it will be able to generate 20 percent savings in fuel economy over its conventional model.

Nissan has also announced that a 2007 Altima Hybrid will be offered and has offered test drives and a glimpse of its development automobile. In a deal inked with Toyota, Nissan will be dedicating five years into the project with the Hybrid Technology developed by Toyota.

Rumored to be unveiling its first hybrid model, Volkswagen is said to be preparing a full-hybrid car for 2007 but it hasn't disclosed yet which automobile model they will be infusing the technology. Latest rumors said that it would be on the Jetta for the upscale engine level or in the Passat for the four-cylinder class.

With more and more car manufacturers realizing the potential of Hybrid automobiles, it wont be long before every vehicle produced will be infused with the Hybrid technology. And as oil prices continue to soar and concerns for the environment are ever growing, we have the ability to all be sure that these vehicles will be welcomed with open arms.

BMW Hybrid Car: German Engineering Brilliance and Elegance fitted with Revolutionary Hybrid Technology, A combination of Style and Performance

Joining the number of Automobile manufacturers that have been concerned for the growing demand for environment friendly vehicles, German vehicle manufacturing giant BMW has announced that they too would soon be producing and selling Hybrid automobiles. Within the next four years, BMW will be providing its own version of the phenomenal and popular hybrid car.

Knowing the many innovations and excellent qualities BMW has contributed to the motor world, we have the ability to be sure that this would be another automotive engineering breakthrough that would set the par others would follow.

BMW stated that their Hybrid automobile would run on both Hydrogen and petroleum and this would be first infused in the 7 series BMW. Already, BMW has some of these automobiles test driven in different countries. Researchers and engineers are already staging some tests and are getting feedbacks to perfect their first hybrid automobile release. BMW doesn't want to release just a beautiful looking automobile, they want one that'll be truly environment friendly as well as performing beautifully.

Deviating from the usual fuel cells used by other hybrid automobile manufacturers, BMW decided on using hydrogen-fuel combined with an internal combustion engine. This led to more research and development needed because of the demand of the engine to keep the hydrogen in liquid form, and this poses as a problem in keeping them cold enough to do just that. If the engine becomes too hot, the hydrogen may evaporate requiring frequent fill ups. Another quandary is keeping the hydrogen from evaporating while in transit to the engine. But BMW has stated that it has found the solution to this problem.

BMW sees hydrogen as the solution, but it would take about two more decades before a automobile can actually be run by hydrogen only. But they're positive that this is very achievable.

BMW claims that for the past thirty years, they have been developing technology that could just lead to the first ever pure hydrogen car. They already have a car that's being powered by water, a vehicle that emits water vapor at the tailpipe, and are to retrieve hydrogen from sunlight.

BMW has been focusing on Hydrogen as a great power source for cars because it is the ideal solution to the ever-worsening emissions from automobiles that contributes to environmental pollution. This is because hydrogen doesn't have perilous emissions, it poses no harm to the atmosphere, it doesn't deplete natural resources, as it can be take from numerous recyclable sources. This is BMW's solution, powering cars with hydrogen produced from water through the use of solar energy. This advancement in technology is evident with the BMW 750hl production automobile showcased at the Expo 2000. Together with some of its partners, BMW may be behind in the mass production of Hybrid vehicles, but they're the forefront in Hybrid technology.

Soon enough, we will all be the beneficiaries of all of these developments and innovations. Not only will we able to save up on gas money, we will also be saving the environment. Owning a Hybrid vehicle doesn't have to mean riding in cramped cars with low engine power. With the unveiling of the BMW hybrid car in the near future, you get sophistication, power, elegance and style while helping clean up our air.

Rediscovering the Wonders of the Toyota Prius Hybrid Vehicle

Motor Trends Automobile of the Year for 2004, North American Automobile of the Year in 2004, 2004 International Engine of the Year, 2005 European Car of the Year, 2006 Energuide Award in the Midsize segment, this and more are the accolades given to the Toyota Prius Hybrid Vehicle. Undoubtedly one of the most popular and most regarded competitor in the ever growing hybrid automobile segment, the Toyota Prius has definitely made a marked in the motor industry.

The Toyota Prius is a Hybrid vehicle that makes a bold statement against environmental issues and the rising gas prices. It is also the first ever mass-produced hybrid automobile for commercial purposes. Its name itself means first.

The Toyota Prius hybrid car was first sold in Japan in 1997 before it was distributed all over the globe 4 years later in 2001. Its popularity was boosted by environmentalists touting it as the vehicle for the future to save our planet from air pollution. Sales in North America ws strong and increasing annually. By fall of 2006, the Toyota Prius hybrid car had the strongest demand and has the longest preorder and waiting list there is presently.

Toyota sees the Prius as a venue that would provide the consumers with a vehicle that would produce less pollution and to be very energy efficient. And Toyota certainly reached that goal. They created the Prius from the bottom up resulting to a true hybrid vehicle that's loved worldwide.

Toyota engineers came up with a couple of ways to develop the Toyota Prius hybrid automobile to be unlike other previous concept electric vehicles, the Prius doesn't ever need to be plugged in for recharging. The two electric motor generators get its power from the gas engine, recharging while the engine power is being used. Also, through regenerative braking, a process that recovers kinetic energy when the automobile brakes and transforming it to electrical energy to recharge the batteries.

By 2004 a second generation of Toyota Prius hybrid vehicle was released on the market. Capitalizing on the development of the new Hybrid Synbergy Drive technology, the previous Toyota Hybrid System was replaced in the new generation Toyota Hybrids. Many improvements were developed and infused in the technology making the Toyota Prius hybrid car even superior than before.

Aside from the engine, Toyota added more room to the Toyota Prius hybrid automobile making it wider and taller allowing for taller people to sit erect inside the car and allowing more views of the road.

Because of the success brought by the Toyota Prius hybrid vehicle and the public awareness it has developed, Toyota has extended its Hybrid lineup to their other cars. This includes the Toyota Camry hybrid and their top of the line Lexus marquee with the Lexus RX400H.

Truly, the Toyota Prius hybrid car has gone a long way. Its engineering superiority and its excellent reputation has made it a great choice for many people. Even a lot of notable famous people have purchased themselves a Toyota Prius hybrid vehicle to show their support to environmental awareness.

Toyota has definitely hit the nail in the head with the Toyota Prius hybrid automobile and we have the ability to anticipate to see more of this technology in the future. With Toyota's dedication to this endeavor, we have the ability to be sure that we have the ability to finally cut down on gas consumption and save our planet.

Many people are now getting frustrated with their usual gas-guzzling conventional car because of the constant increase in fuel prices. Because of this, more and more people are looking for alternative modes of travel. Some people with cars are now leaving it on the garage and walks from home to work nearly everyday to conserve fuel and some are taking the subways, and other transportation services that exist in order to save money.

However, there are some people who simply just need their automobile for their work. Because of this, many of this people are now considering selling their old conventional gas-guzzling vehicles and buy a new kind of automobile that can cut fuel consumption by half. These new line of vehicles are called hybrid cars. Just envision, you can effectively go more than 60 miles per gallon with hybrid vehicles.

Also, hybrid cars produce fewer pollutants than conventional cars. This means that not only will you cut fuel consumption by more than half, but you will also decrease the level of pollution that is poisoning the environment and people. With hybrid cars, everyone can benefit from it.

Now that you know about hybrid vehicles and is now considering to get one for your own, you now want to know how it works. You also want to know how it can relatively cut fuel consumption by half and you also want to know why it emits fewer pollutants than conventional automobiles.

First of all, you have to consider that hybrid vehicles can be quite expensive. However, when you calculate the overall cost that you'll spend on gasoline during the lifetime of the hybrid vehicle and the conventional automobile, you will see that you will spend more money on conventional cars of the same weight class as the hybrid vehicle with a higher retail price included and taxes.

Hybrid automobile buyers also enjoy tax incentives imposed by the government. So, when you buy hybrid vehicles, you'll enjoy tax breaks. Therefore, you will save more money.

The concept of the hybrid car is quite simple. Hybrid automobiles combine electricity, which is the cleanest energy source available, and internal combustion gasoline engine to run the vehicle.

In simple words, hybrid automobiles utilize both electricity and gasoline energy to power the car. First of all, the hybrid car works when once you start the vehicle and is in idle mode or not running, the gasoline engine is automatically shut off. This means that the car is purely running on electricity. This will explain why hybrid cars are very quiet. This will also explain why it can effectively conserve fuel consumption. Once you step on the accelerator, the internal combustion engine will automatically begin up again. There are also hybrid cars that can run purely on electric mode. This is very useful if you are only using the automobile for local travels. You virtually do not even need to put gasoline in the vehicle.

However, in this type of hybrid automobile, you have to take into account putting gasoline for long travels. You can even state that the gasoline will be used for back up power in case the battery is discharged. Most hybrid automobiles developed today do not need to be plugged in like the electric automobile. The used kinetic energy when you're braking will be the one to recharge the battery.

This is how easy a hybrid car works. It will be comprised of a battery for energy storage, a generator, an internal combustion engine, a fuel tank, and an electric motor.

Now that you know how hybrid cars work, you now see how beneficial it can be if you are driving one. You will not only save a lot of money from fuel consumption, but you'll also help save the environment by emitting far lower toxic fumes than conventional cars.

Hybrid Cars: What is All The Fuss About?

It is a fact that people simply adores hybrid cars. They love hybrid cars because of the benefits it can give them, t6o the other people and the environment. So, what is it about hybrid vehicles that it is now attracting more and more people to get one for their own?

First of all, if you have a hybrid car, you will be able to cut fuel consumption in half. When was the last time you pulled your vehicle over to a pumping station? If you recently did, you'll notice that the price of gasoline is on a constant rise. When compared to conventional cars, hybrid vehicles will enable you to cut fuel consumption in half. This means fewer trips to the gasoline station. Just envision yourself driving a vehicle that can travel more than 60 miles per gallon. This might sound good enough for you to get a hybrid automobile, but there are more benefits that you can get from hybrid cars.

Back in 2005, President George Bush has signed an agreement that lets the buyers and users of hybrid automobile enjoy massive tax breaks. Because of this, you will be able to save money on taxes. Another great benefit that you can get when you have a hybrid automobiles are free parking, and some says have imposed a law that hybrid vehicles should be discounted on toll gates.

Hybrid automobiles are also known to emit far lower levels of pollutants in the air. This means less air pollution. This will also mean that it will tend to reduce the effects of global warming and will enable you and other people to breathe cleaner air.

These are just some of the things that hybrid automobiles can give you. You'll now ask what kind of technology is inside hybrid vehicles that makes it so fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.

Hybrid vehicles are integrated with the hybrid technology currently existing today. In fact, hybrid technology has existed for a long time. It is used on locomotives, it is used on submarines and it is used in some buses in some says and countries.

Hybrid technology is a combination of electricity and the standard engine. For example, in locomotives, it combines the diesel engine and electric engine, and in submarines, it combines the nuclear engine and electric engine. This is far more efficient than letting the conventional engine run on its own.

In hybrid automobiles, it combines the energy of gasoline engines and an electric motor to power the vehicle. This means that with both engines running, it will lessen the load on the internal combustion engine. The electric motor will share the labor. With this technology it will grant you to save precious fuel and also let you emit far lower volumes of toxic fumes in the air.

For example, if your hybrid automobile is running idle, it will automatically switch off the gasoline engine and let the vehicle run on pure electricity. This can save you a lot of fuel especially if you're stuck in a gridlock traffic jam.

Today, there are hybrid vehicles that are designed to run even when the gasoline engine is switched off. This kind of hybrid automobile will eventually get rid of gasoline station trips. And, it will let you travel without emitting toxic fumes. The gasoline engine will only act as a backup engine when the battery pack runs out of power. The braking and the engine will automatically recharge the battery pack preparing it for another purely electric run. This means that you don't actually have to plug in your hybrid car to your electrical outlet for it to recharge.

So, if you need a vehicle that runs cleaner, quieter and far more fuel efficient, you should consider getting a hybrid automobile.

Ford Escape Hybrid Endures Commuter's Nightmare Road TestThe Ford Escape Hybrid (the first hybrid SUV) was run through a grueling "commuter's nightmare" road test at the New York International Vehicle Show. During the road test, the Ford Escape Hybrid averaged over 38 miles per gallon in a nonstop 37-hour drive in and around New York City.

The hybrid SUV started the test with one 15-gallon tank of gas. That one tank of fuel and a 330-volt electric battery kept the Ford Escape Hybrid running for 37 consecutive hours of city driving in the grueling urban congestion of Manhattan, for a total of 576 miles. The resulting fuel economy of the hybrid version of the Escape is a 75 percent improvement over the 20 mpg that the Environmental Protection Agency rates the conventional Ford Escape V-6 at.

An electric motor powered by a 330-volt nickel-metal battery pack and a conventional gas internal combustion engine are combined to run the Ford Escape Hybrid. When driving, the system chooses whether to use power from the electric motor or the gas engine, and when extra power is needed it will use both at the same time. Unlike some hybrid cars, the Ford Escape is capable of running on electric power exclusively, and at speeds up to 25 miles per hour. The system constantly evaluates how to maximize fuel economy, and will use the ideal combination of electric and gas power to achieve that.

The casual observer will be unable to tell the difference between the hybrid and conventional versions of the Escape as they look exactly the same, and in fact come off the same assembly line. The dash board even appears normal, though there's a battery level gauge, and the tachometer has a below-zero setting that indicates the vehicle is running in electric only mode.

In a midtown-Manhatten road test, the Ford Escape Hybrid performed at the same levels you would expect from a conventional SUV, despite the fact that it ran much of the test in electric-only mode. The gas engine kicked in smoothly when needed, and in electric-only mode the car is nearly silent.

When the gas engine is running, it also recharges the battery. Power generated by braking is also used to charge the battery (called regenerative braking). Despite common misconceptions, hybrid automobiles never have to be plugged in to an external electrical source for charging.

The Ford Escape Hybrid is a good option for those struggling to select between fuel economy and the comforts found in a SUV. You get the improved fuel economy and reduced emissions of a hybrid commuter vehicle, and also the 4WD performance of a conventional SUV with plenty of room for passengers, pets, and cargo.

How Hybrid Cars WorkMany consumers aren't satisfied to know that hybrid automobiles achieve excellent fuel economy and reduced emmissions, but also are also curious about how they work. Three primary components are integrated to make a hybrid: an internal combustion gas engine, an electric motor and a high-powered battery. A process called regenerative braking is used to capture energy and charge the battery. This is energy that would normally be lost during coasting or decelerating. The battery which is continuously recharged through this process provides power to the electric motor. If necessary, power from the gasoline engine might also be diverted to charge the battery. These charging strategies create an electrical power system that never needs to be plugged in to charge from an external source.

Those are the basics of hybrid cars in general. We will divide hybrids into two categories to examine further how the three components work together. Each category of hybrids incorporates the three components in its own way.

Mild Hybrids -
In the mild hybrid configuration the electric motor isn't able to function independently of the gas internal combustion engine. The vehicle is powered primarily by the gas engine, and the electric motor only provides supplemental power to assist when needed. The electric motor is capable of drawing energy from the battery or generating electricity to charge the battery, but it isn't capable of doing both at the same time. The Honda Civic and Insight are mild hybrid cars.

Full Hybrids -
Full hybrid cars integrate the three components in a way that grants the electric motor and the gas engine to operate independently of each other. For instance the electric motor is capable of operating on its own to provide light acceleration at low speeds. The gas engine then starts up and takes over at higher speeds. Both the electric motor and gas engine can operate in unison when more power is needed during hard acceleration, such as when climbing hills. Full hybrids are also able to draw energy from the battery and charge it at the same time. The Toyota Prius and Ford Escape are full hybrids.

Despite their differences, both types of hybrid vehicles achieve the goal of increased fuel economy and decreased emissions over standard gas or diesel powered vehicles.

Hybrid Sports Cars: Fulfilling Your Need for Speed While Saving On Fuel

If you are a type of person who likes exotic high speed sports automobile, then you should prepare to spend a lot of money on gasoline. Sports vehicles are known to have huge engines to reach high amounts of speed. Having large engines mean that it will also consume massive amounts of fuel.

For the typical person, this kind of automobile is definitely not something that they should drive each day, especially because of the rising prices of gasoline. However, why do people still drool and save money to purchase these high-priced sports automobile? Maybe it's because of the high speed ability that they have the ability to take advantage of whenever they feel the need for speed, or maybe because it's because of the sleek and stylish look of these automobiles.

Hybrid technology is now being used to produce fuel efficient vehicles. These cars are designed to be lightweight, and aerodynamic with small engines to maximize fuel efficiency. However, hybrid automobiles are relatively slow because of the small engine. Hybrid cars existing this day are designed for city or local driving where you don't need to go on high speeds. You've to take into account that these vehicles are designed to be fuel efficient.

However, vehicle manufacturers this day are now opening up a new line of hybrid automobiles. Some already built a prototype or a concept automobile to be shown to the public. These hybrid vehicles are designed to accomplish high amounts of speed but at the same time, take advantage of the hybrid technology to save fuel.

High speed hybrid sports cars are being designed by car manufacturers this day to satisfy consumers who like to go at high speeds and at the same time, save fuel. The gasoline-electric engine concept is so popular this day that manufacturers, such as Toyota and Honda are now opening a new line in their factory that produces hybrid sports automobiles.

Major auto shows have shown different hybrid sports vehicle concepts from different huge automobile manufacturers. One is the high performance hybrid sports automobile from Mitsubishi called the Mitsubishi Eclipse Concept-E. This hybrid concept sports automobile is a very good example of what sports cars will look like in the near future.

Mitsubishi's Eclipse Concept-E takes advantage of the hybrid technology. The front wheels are driven by the parallel hybrid system. This means that the electric motor is integrated with the gasoline engine, which is a 3.8 liter V6. With the gasoline engine and the electric motor, it is able to have a power output of 270 horsepower.

The new generation of sports vehicle like the Mitsubishi Eclipse Concept-E is only one of the concept hybrid sports cars that are now being talked about by sports car fanatics. With the hybrid technology integrated into sports automobiles, you'll definitely save a lot of money on fuel while letting you combine fuel efficiency and power all in one package.

Hybrid sports automobile is definitely the sports automobile of the future. It is now possible to have a sports automobile that's able to save fuel and still give you maximum performance. With hybrid sports automobile, you can now own a luxury sports automobile that's able to cut fuel consumption. You can satisfy your speed urges without sacrificing massive money for fuel.

The hybrid SUV has proven to maintain all of the power and utility of the traditional SUV, while also providing previously unheard of fuel economy and greatly reduced emissions. Toyota and Lexus are both offering 2006 hybrid SUV models, which were put through 1,000 mile road tests under all conditions for the following comparison.2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid

The Highlander Hybrid SUV is a seven-passenger car that doesn't sacrifice comfort for fuel economy. The hybrid model is just like the gas Highlander. It handles just as well, has a simple cabin design, and maintains the same 81 cubic feet of cargo capacity. The difference is that it achieves much greater fuel economy while being more powerful. Yes, you might go back and read that again. The hybrid version of the Highlander is actually MORE powerful than the gas model.

Toyota used the same 3.3 liter V6 in the hybrid SUV that it uses in the gas Highlander. They recalibrated it and added three electric motors. One of the electric motors is used for starting the internal combustion engine and also recharging the 288-volt battery pack. One works with the gas engine to drive the front wheels. And the other adds additonal power to the rear wheels when extra traction or power is needed (the third electric motor is not used on front-wheel drive models).

Do not let the silence fool you when starting the Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV. The gas engine won't kick in until you hit 25 mph or you turn on the air conditioning.

The hybrid Highlander isn't lacking for power. In fact, the hybrid model boasts a whopping 268 horsepower compared to the gas model's 230. Acceleration is responsive at any speed with the electric motors handling the low-end pull, and the gas engine hitting its stride in midrange. The Highlander Hybrid went from zero to 60 in 7.2 seconds in track testing, making it one of the fastest SUVs (hybrid or internal combustion) in its price range.

During testing the Highlander Hybrid SUV only attained a 23 mpg average fuel economy. This was a bit disappointing, especially since Toyota claims 31 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, but in the 7-8 passenger SUV class it really doesn't get much superior than that. Hybrids perform much better in terms of fuel economy at low speeds because this is where they use more electricity than gas. While stuck in traffic the Highlander got about 30 mpg.

The 2006 Highlander Hybrid comes with more standard features than the gas model. The model tested came standard with leather and side airbags. But even after adjusting for the extras, you can anticipate to pay about $3,000 more for the hybrid over the conventional model. One incentive to purchase the hybrid model is you can take a $2,000 tax credit if you buy in 2005. However in 2006 the federal tax incentive drops to $500.

The 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV is the only hybrid that seats seven passengers.

2006 Lexus RX 400h

The Lexus RX 400h hybrid SUV is essentially the best-selling RX 330 with a hybrid drivetrain installed. And the wait list for the hybrid model was so long that Lexus was forced to set up a communication system specifically for keeping customers updated on the vehicle's progress. Due to the early buzz created by the RX 400h, Lexus is now planning hybrid versions of the GS and LS sedans.

The RX 400h hybrid SUV uses the same drivetrain as the Toyota Highlander Hybrid and is rated for fuel economy at 31 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. The Lexus is available in all-wheel drive only.

The RX 400h is 100 pounds heavier than the Highlander, but equalled the Toyota's zero to 60 time at 7.2 seconds. In the quarter mile the Lexus slightly outperformed the Toyota hybrid SUV at 15.3 seconds.

Like the Highlander, the Lexus RX 400h has more power than it's gas counterpart. Even at 300 pounds heavier than the RX 300, the 400h felt considerably faster, even when easily ascending steep highway grades. The RX 400h has a tighter suspension than the Highlander Hybrid, as well as 18-inch tires, which made for better handling and an exciting drive.

The Lexus delivered a disappointing 22 mpg average, with the best tank at 24 mpg. Despite those numbers, compare it with the gas RX 300 which when tested only averaged 16 mpg.

There's a marked increase in engine noise with the RX 400h when under hard acceleration. More so than with the RX 330. There was a similar problem with the Toyota, but the difference seemed greater in the Lexus.

The Lexus RX 400h hybrid SUV has a sticker of $11,000 more than the base RX 330, but it comes with just about each possible feature. If you add all of those features to the RX 330, the difference is only about $3,000 which is comparable to the difference in the Toyota models.

Getting to Know the Ford Hybrid Car and their Distinct Innovative Advantages

Ford has always been a brand name that signifies excellence, innovation, dedication and is really an All-American brand name. One of the biggest players in the motor industry, Ford has never failed to provide the American population and the world, cutting edge automobiles that caters to every needs.

With the growing environmental concerns not just in USA, Ford has joined the Hybrid bandwagon and came up with their own Hybrid card. It is popularly known that Americans love the room and power that SUV's provide, and with the hybrid sedan crowding with Japanese manufactured hybrid automobiles, Ford decided to infuse their hybrid technology with a automobile they know many Americans would embrace, a Hybrid SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) in the form of the Ford Escape Hybrid.

The Ford Escape Hybrid was first introduced in 2004 and is a gas electric powered compact SUV. Consumer demand became strong for the Ford Escape Hybrid prompting Ford to produce more of the gas saving SUV.

To avoid any legal issues, Ford went into an agreement with Toyota to use some of the patented hybrid technology previously used in the very successful Toyota Prius. By 2006, The Hybrid system utilized by Ford is acknowledged as one of the more advanced technology being offered. The Ford Escape Hybrid is now available as a full hybrid motor vehicle. It makes use of different power combinations that adjusts to the driving style to conserve more power and achieve maximum potential and efficiency in performance. Compared to the conventional gas fed Ford escape, they provide the same performance, comfort with less fuel consumption.

Aside from the Ford escape Hybrid, Ford has also released another Hybrid SUV under one of their automobile brand names, Mercury. The Mercury mariner has many similarities with the Ford Escape Hybrid and its soon to be released sibling the Mazda Tribute Hybrid. Ford plans to further develop their SUV hybrid lineup concentrating on this segment but is not dismissing the hybrid sedan segment and have plans to introduce hybrid sedans in the future.

Fords research and design table are now over flowing with plans to further boost awareness and concern with environmental issues and have dedicated to provide more alternative powered vehicles as they see that this is the future. This is because Hybrid automobiles offer a lot of advantages and benefits that does not only cater to environmental issues but as to the pockets of the consumers as well.

With a Ford hybrid vehicle, you'll soon notice that you'll be doing less pit stops for refueling as you can squeeze out more miles to a gallon. With the ever escalating prices of fuel, this is a warmly welcomed change. You will also notice the significant lowering of the sounds the engine makes. Plus, some states offer tax rebates when purchasing hybrid automobiles, which translates to more savings in the bank.

Ford has now over a hundred patents pending to further develop their Hybrid technology. All of them would be able to make our lives superior. With Ford Hybrid cars, you get the same comfort, same performance and same space but with less gas emissions and less gas spending. You get true value for your money and your helping our environment at the same time.
